Two weeks before, we brought you an article regarding the popularity of Windows Phone in India. Windows Phone has now emerged as the 2nd most popular smartphone’s OS in India. This shows the right direction of Windows Phone. Here we are going to show you the result of another survey showing the growth of Windows Phone.

According to Kantar Worldpanel, a survey company, Windows Phone has got more than 9% market share in major European countries (UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain). Windows Phone has 12% shares in France, 10.8% in UK. This is first time Windows Phone reached such market share in such major countries. Nokia Lumia 620 and 520 are most sold smartphones in Windows Phone series as they are cheap ones. But there is a bad news for Microsoft too as market share in Italy and China dropped  from 10.3% to 9.5% and from 4.7% to 2.1% respectively. In USA, market share is about 3% and in Australia, it holds a market share of 6.5%. which is more than previous data.

Overall, Android is still the most popular mobile operating system on the market with a market share in Europe of 70.1%. Apple’s iOS is second at 16.1%, while Windows Phone is third with 9.2% of the market. So what can we conclude seeing these figures? Still Windows Phone needs to develop  to beat iOS and then think of beating Android.
