Going back in the Past when Microsoft released Windows 8, Microsoft replaced the Desktop with Start Screen making it the default screen. But for people, the idea was not so attractive. Considering it, Microsoft added the feature to change default screen in its new Windows 8.1. And now, as Windows 8.1 Update 1 is going to release in March, something more is revealed.

According to our source, Windows 8.1 Update 1 now by default will boot to Desktop screen rather than the Start Screen. However, we may consider Microsoft to plan Start Screen as default on tablets. It will be quite better for Microsoft to treat different types of devices separately.

Not only this, the leaked snapshots also confirmed something else. Have a look on this snapshot,

You can clearly notice a menu bar placed at the top of the Metro app running. And under the option of Settings, you have the options to Split Left, Split Right, Minimize, Maximize and Close. Thus now the update will also enable you to minimize the app to desktop.

Till now that’s all we have. Stay tuned to catch more regarding the upcoming update for Windows 8.1!
