The Fire Emblem series has clawed its way back from the grave in recent years. Fans were anxious after the series going dark after 2008’s Fire Emblem radiant dawn. But all that was changed when the series fate was turned around in 2013 with the release of the aptly titled, Fire Emblem: Awakening. It appears that series creator Shouzou Kaga is ready to go in different directions with the announcement of Vestaria Saga English version.
Vestaria Saga English version is a classical styled SRPG and a freeware Indie title for the PC made by Vesteria Project, which consists of Shouzou Kaga and other volunteers.
Recently it was announced that the game is being localized and translated to English. Along with that, it was also announced that it was coming to Steam. The playable demo is up now and can be played by PC players.

The game is set to be released in 2019. This is a great time to be a Fire Emblem fan. With Fire Emblem Three houses announced at E3 2018 as a Fire Emblem Game for Nintendo Switch and Shouzou Kaga working on Vesteria Saga, the Japanese SRPG scene is seeing a resurgence.
There is a clear desire for Fire Emblem Creator Kaga to go back to the roots of what made Fire Emblem special. That is why in an era where Fire Emblem is seeing widespread success, he chose to work on an indie game for the PC which is very reminiscent of the older GBA era Fire Emblem Games.
Let us compare one Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (a GBA era Fire emblem game) and Vestaria Saga English version.
The similarities are striking! It is always nice to see a creator go back to the roots of what made his game special. We’re all rooting for Vestaria Saga. Let it bring us the joy that the Fire Emblem series did.
