It has over 200 million accounts created and according to the Guinness book of world records it the most updated and played F2P game ever. It appears that a new IP is in works at Jagex the original copyright holder being formed later in 2001. The news was found on the LinkedIn profile of Nathan Richardsson who seems to be the new executive producer of the new unannounced Runescape action RPG.

If you have not ever heard or read the name of Runescape in your life then I will be pretty much surprised. The game was so popular after its release. The popularity grew so much that there is a separate old school version of the game for players who did not like the new reworks, updates, and improvement in years. Jagex also released the iOS and Android version of the game last year with cross-platform capabilities. You can also select from old-school or the regular version of Runescape as well.

Experience:

Richardsson seems to be a very capable person as he worked as a senior producer at Behaviour Interactive for 3 years, senior producer at Ubisoft for 6 months, and his works at CCP for 7 years and 9 months. He worked as an executive director and senior producer, also a board member at CCP and worked at this post for 1 year. At CCP he was responsible for the development and strategy ofEVE, Dust 514 and World of Darkness.

At Jagex it says,

An unannounced Runescape Action Role Playing Game. And world domination, of course.

Which suggests that it might have action based combat instead of the traditional combat system of the existing MMO. Since it will be an action RPG we can also expect a console release. Let’s wait for the official announcement from Jagex which they can announce in the upcoming days. What do you think? let us know down in the comments below.
