In an exciting news, Nintendo Will be releasing two new Nintendo Switch consoles this year. However, the new consoles may not be what you’d expect.

In a recent Wall Street Journal Report, a source told WSJ that Nintendo is going to release two new Nintendo Switch models this summer. One of the two new consoles will feature enhanced features while the other one is a “cheaper option for casual gamers that Nintendo sees as a successor to its aging hand-held 3DS device…”

Two New Nintendo Switch Models Will Be Announced At E3 In June

WSJ has reported that the new models of the popular handheld console will be announced officially at E3 in June this year. The launch will take place subsequently, probably in a couple of months after the announcement.

However, as one would expect, the new consoles are in no way a complete overhaul of the original console. The source told WSJ that the consoles are not what most would expect meaning that they won’t feature drastic performance improvements the way Xbox One X does over the original Xbox One.

“You would be wrong to think the enhanced version is similar to what Sony did with PS4 Pro and the other is just a cheap alternative that looks very similar to some past hand-held machines, say, Sony’s PlayStation Vita,” the source said.

On the contrary, however, the cheaper model of the two will be doing away with features like controller vibrations to cut down on costs. The report does not mention prices at this point.

Moreover, the report also talks about Nintendo working with Sharp on the displays for the new Switch models. Sharp reportedly bid to make the displays for the original Switch consoles but lost out.

This is all we know so far, comment below and tell me how you feel regarding the new Switch Consoles.
