Swarm for Android and iOS was released back in May but there was no sign of Windows Phone version till now. But now Foursquare has launched its check-in app Swarm to Windows Phone Store as well.
Swarm for Windows Phone is slightly different than traditional iOS and Android apps. It has mayorships, leaderboards and other game mechanics to push people to share their location with their friends.
Earlier this year Foursquare announced that it will separate its app in two apps. In May it released Swarm for check-ins. And recently a major update to Foursquare is released which is focused on personalized suggestions. This update is currently released for Android and iOS. The new Foursquare gives you suggestions and place recommendation on the base of your past check-ins and tips that your friends gave. It also lets you choose your tastes and give you recommendations based on your interests. And giving tips at different places earns you expertise points. The original Foursquare app for Windows Phone is not updated yet and we have to wait to see when they updated it.
