Sony announced Xperia M2, a mid range Quad Core

MWC 2014 is on its way and Sony has already announced its latest flagship Xperia Z2 with 20 MP camera and 4K video recording. Sony has also announced the Sony Xperia M2. Xperia M2 has a 4.8″ TFT display with 540×960 pixels resolution and a Scratch-resistant glass. It has a dimention of 139.6 x 71.1 x 8.6 mm and it weighs about 148 grams. It features Snapdragon 400 chipset with a quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 processor, Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM. Internal storage is 8 GB which is further expandable by Micro SD card up to 32 GB.

Xpera M2 Camera :

Xperia M2 packs a 8MP camera with Sony’s Exmor RS sensor which features Geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization, HDR, panorama. It can capture videos up to 1080p and there is a LED flash as well. There is a front facing camera present as well. On the connectivity side Xperia M2 offers 3G with HSPA, GPS with GLONASS, NFC,Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, FM radio and microUSB v2.0 with USB On-the-go support.

On the software side M2 will be running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and there are no words whether it will get Android 4.4 KitKat and when. But we hope Sony will be upgrading it to latest Android KitKat very soon.
