As E3 has given us so many awesome games this year. All games standing on high level, realistic graphics. These games will end up eating gigabytes of storage on your console. It would be a shame if you missed these games just because you lack storage for you console. But no need to worry, Seagate has come up with all new Game Drive SSD for Xbox one that has storage capacity up to 2GB. This external SSD will provide the data transfer rate like an internal storage device thanks to USB 3.0 and SSD technology.

Game Drive SSD for Xbox: Ease of mind

Those days are long gone when we used to play games on our console solely using DVDs. Even with Bluray DVDs it is more easy to download games on the local storage device and play. Now most of the games come in digital form so local storage is your answer of all the problem. But since consoles have not fixed their internal storage so you end up using a external hard drive that has low transfer rate than the internal storage. Here is where Seagate Game Drive SSD will come to use. SSD has gained much more faster transfer rate by removing physical parts like read heads. And by using USB 3.0 technology we can gain not exact but a good transfer rate like an internal Hard drive. Another benefit of using external Game Drive SSD is that it is portable and it can even fit in your pocket.

Seagate SSD up to 2GB:

This new Game Drive SSD for Xbox will be available in 2TB, 1TB and 500GB variants and will be compatible for any Xbox console over USB. Previous Game Drive SSD for a console was 512 GB that was really not much. The new Game Drive SSD for Xbox is considered to allegedly have same dimensions as before but have more storage capacity. As Seagate has not released any details about the dimensions and designs of the SSD we cannot say much about the design.

Seagate Game Drive SSD: Performance

Rumors are that The new Game Drive SSD for Xbox will allegedly provide transfer rate up to 540 Mb/s. But is still not clarified that how would an external SSD will provide such transfer rate via USB 3.0. The transfer rate for USB 3.0 is max 450 Mb/s. The predecessors advertised the transfer rate up to 440 Mb/s via USB 3.0. But Seagate is claiming to give transfer rate just like internal SSD provides via SATA. The shorter access time of SSD will eventually reduce the loading time of games. The 2GB SSD will be able to hold 50 downloadable games give or take depending about their size.
