Satya Nadella is the new CEO of Microsoft, Bill Gates also back with new role

Satya Nadella is the new CEO of Microsoft. He’s the third ever CEO of the company since it was founded in 1975, following Steve Ballmer and Bill Gates. His new position is effective immediately. Formally Nadella has been Incharge of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise division and has a rich technical background. Satya Nadella born in Hyderabad, India. He has done Masters in Computer Science as well as in Business Administration. Back on August 23rd, 2013, the 34-year Microsoft veteran Steve Ballmer announced that he would retire within the year.

The company founder Bill Gates said about Satya Nadella that there was “NO BETTER PERSON TO LEAD MICROSOFT”. As part of the transition, Gates will also be returning to a larger role at Microsoft as Technology Advisor.

Satya Nadella recently sent a letter to all Microsoft employes in which Nadella declares the goal of putting a PC in every home achieved and says the company will focus on more devices specially mobile devices. Nadella will focus mainly on Cloud and Mobile devices because these are the needs of the time.

Here is the statement from Nadella,

Microsoft is one of those rare companies to have truly revolutionized the world through technology, and I couldn’t be more honored to have been chosen to lead the company. The opportunity ahead for Microsoft is vast, but to seize it, we must focus clearly, move faster and continue to transform. A big part of my job is to accelerate our ability to bring innovative products to our customers more quickly.

And here is a short interview question to him:

You don’t have a big device penetration just yet.

Here is the reply of Satya Nadella,
The concept of devices and services, in just looking at our share, our share in mobile is low but our share on PC is high. But as long as you say there is going to be all sorts of ubiquitous computing around you, there’s going to be big screens, small screens, things in your pocket, and we’re going to be a player. Do we have share today, and do we have to grow share, that’s I think we will be a player. The second one, really will come down to the capability that most difficult capability that I think is not easy to build because it requires both scale and immense amount of software skills is the cloud. The cloud infrastructure is perhaps the toughest, if you’re not in it, and so if you take those two things, it’s really us and Google are probably the two players who have the best.”
So let see how Satya Nadella revolutionizes the World of Technology. We wish him BEST OF LUCK for his future career as CEO of Microsoft. You can read more about him on Microsoft.
