Nintendo recently announced that they don’t have any plans of announcing any new hardware at E3 2019. This put the rumors of a possible new Nintendo Switch revision to rest. However, Gamereactor believes that contrary to Nintendo’s statement yesterday, the company has no plans on announcing a new Switch model on E3 2019.
New Switch Model before E3?
Gamereactor has a lot of reason to believe that Nintendo is playing a bluffing game. While the company did announce nothing would be announced at E3, they never said anything about announcements before said event.
The site has compiled a lot of evidence to suggest that Nintendo has a history of denying rumors and later on following them up with a full on reveal days later. This was seen with the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Switch.
Gamesreactor has also stated that there is rumor of Nintendo telling Spanish retailers to finish their stock of Nintendo 2DS before the summer ends.
This has fueled the rumor that Nintendo could release a new Switch model before E3 2019, which will go on fitting their past behavior of denying rumors but later on following them up with a release.
While this is a pretty bold claim, it is also confusing on why Nintendo is specifically targeting Spanish retailers and not the European or American markets where the system is equally popular.
For now, we would like to remind you that this is just rumor and there is no official confirmation of this happening on an official capacity.
While a new Nintendo Switch would be welcomed if it brings superior graphics or better portability, we aren’t sure if Nintendo has anything planned yet.
This is all coming at a time when Sony and Microsoft are working on successors to their current consoles, with vastly superior hardware.
Nintendo and Microsoft are set to make an appearance at this years E3, where one of them will announce what could be the last games for this generation of consoles. Whether or not we get a new Switch model before or after E3 is something we will have to wait and see.
