RUMOR: Borderlands 3 Announcement Coming Soon?

Borderlands 1 and 2 was one of the best FPSRPG on the PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC. The game has yet to see a new release on the current generation of consoles outside of The Handsome Collection. It seems that there are some theories on the internet where 2K could be hyping up a Borderlands 3 announcement with some new content for Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel.

All of this is just pieces of information put together, so take all of this with grains of salt.

Borderlands 3 – Is This Still A Place For A Hero?

The first hint of Borderlands 3 comes from insider reports. It states Gearbox games plans on releasing Borderlands 3 to usher in the new console generation in 2019 or 2020.

The mystery continues as 2 YouTube creators discover some mysterious updates that are incoming for Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel. The reports do suggest that the SteamDB pages of each game have been updated recently, and this could mean some new content being released.

Lastly, you can see the SteamDB listings of both games. The games have been constantly updated throughout October. The files are encrypted, so this is where dataminers have hit a wall. You can take a look at the DB pages yourself and see the sneaky change of extensive changelogs in the past months.

Borderlands 2: The Pre-Sequel

It is curious why Gearbox would constantly push new encrypted updates for a game that is barely played anymore? A broad theory is that Gearbox is going to release some refresher content for owners of the game to create hype for Borderlands 3. While there is nothing yet to confirm this theory, there are some recent tweets that do add further curiosity to the mix.

As you can see. There are a couple of gamers who have the inside knowledge and are hinting towards something for Borderlands over the past few days. While they have yet to spill the beans, I am sure an announcement is getting very close.

Borderlands 2 was released in 2012 and the Pre-Sequel was released in 2014. I think it’s about time we return to the beautiful world of Pandora which was missed in this console generation.
