Resident Evil 2 launches in a few days and ahead of it, Capcom hosted a launch livestream. The games review are set to come in any day now, but Capcom has already planned out some free post-launch content. Going by the name of Resident Evil 2 The Ghost Survivors, the game will let players have a Raid mode of sorts from Resident Evil Revelations.
Resident Evil 2 The Ghost Survivors – What are ya buyin’?
Capcom’s launch livestream for Resident Evil 2 Remake just finished and they ended it on quite the high note. The company has announced that there will be a free content update for the game by the name of The Ghost Survivors.
The game mode will allow you to play as multiple characters and will have randomized elements which could be similar to the randomizer in Resident Evil 1. There will be an in-game shop as well which won’t have microtranscations. Your currency here will be points earned from the game mode itself.
We only know of 2 new characters for the mode so far, Robert Kendo, a USS Member and the daughter of the Mayor of Raccoon City, Katherine. You can also play as Leon, Ada, and Claire in the game mode.
We are going to wait for further details on the game mode. Capcom has not given a release date or a window for the update, but we can hope for it to drop sometime in March or April.
This is some surprisingly good news for fans who plan on buying the game, and if the company does decide to release free content updates for the game after its release, there is definitely going to be plenty of reason for people to keep their copies of the game after they’ve completed them.
Resident Evil 2 launches on the PS4, Xbox One and PC on the 25th of January 2019, making it one of the first major titles to ring in the year with more to come in the months to follow!
