It is not unheard of for Sony to release a constant series of firmware updates but the lack of patch notes is whats really disappointing. PS4 Firmware 6.20 is the successor the 6.10 Firmware that was in effect until yesterday. While we don’t have an idea of any changes discovered thus far, the only thing the patch notes say are “Improves system stability” which is the go-to line for PS4 firmware.
PS4 Firmware 6.20 Download – Is there anything good in it? No.
If you are waiting to download PS4 Firmware 6.20, you just need to click on this link. The update weighs in at 426.4 MB.
The only changelog that accompanies the firmware are:
- This system software update improves system performance.
Currently we are looking for download links for the firmware, but to install the update using a USB you need to do the following:
- When you have downloaded the update file, save it to a USB
- Create a folder on the USB Root called “PS4” without the “. In Uppercase.
- Open the PS4 folder and go create a new folder “UPDATE” again in uppercase.
- Copy the update to the update folder, plug it into the PS4 and then navigate to Settings and System Software Update to begin updating from the USB.
Unfortunately, the main PSN update that will bring the name change feature outside of Beta is still a long ways off, so if you are waiting for that update, you shouldn’t be holding your breath.
The update is only necessary if you want to play online, so there is no rush to download the firmware update.
