Pokemon VGC 2019 Season Announced: Tournament Will Be Played on US and UM Will be Excluding LGPE

The company announced the Video Game Championship 2019 season. For the very first time, the tournament will be played on Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon and will be excluding the new title, Let’s Go Pikachu & Pokemon. Also, the “year” is split into 3 different periods with 3 different rule sets. Pokemon VGC 2019 Season

The Pokemon VGC 2019 Season will follow some major changes in rules and regulations to ensure that the Video Game Championships will be more exciting than ever for the 2019 Championship Series season. Battles will be shifting to the GS Cup battling format starting on September 4, 2018. With this, the players will have to make brand new strategies as the VGC 2018 ends.

This popular format, in 2016 Video Game Championships allowed the players to use the legendary powerful Pokemon like Mewtwo, Groudon, and Necrozma.

Throughout the season the rules will be continuously changing resulting in this year’s championship fresh. The 2019 Video Game Championships will be split up into three series, each featuring a slightly different rule set. The season will start with Sun Series then it will be followed by Moon Series and then Ultra series.

In the Sun Series, not only will Rayquaza not be permitted to use Dragon Ascent, but also the Red Orb and Blue Orb items and all Z-Crystals and Mega Stones will be prohibited.

Pokemon VGC 2019 Season Rules

All of the tournaments that will be the part of VGC 2019 will have the following rules.

The rules for the respective series are as follows

Sun Series
September 4, 2018–January 7, 2019

Moon Series
January 8, 2019–April 1, 2019

Ultra Series
April 2, 2019–Pokemon World Championships in August 2019
