OnePlus 2 is an awesome phone with high specifications and powerful camera. This phone is smartphone kill for 2015 same OP 1 but this time OnePlus failed to give a proper operating system to support its capabilities. Ever since, OP decided to make its own OS for their smartphones and ditch CyanogenMod, you can clearly see how pathetic the bugs (OnePlus 2 heating issue, performance lag) are in new Oxygen OS. OnePlus announced they will release monthly updates to fix most of the bugs and improve the user experience. As they released Marshmallow for OP 2 in beta version most users are eager to try the new features that will.

This time OnePlus manages to kept some of the expectation and removed most problems such as lag and slow performance but there seems to a new bug of overheating. OnePlus 2 after being upgraded to beta version of OOS 3.0 will experience a lot of heating issues not due to performance overload but mostly charging or staying idle. I have experienced it by myself and after unable to hold my phone in my hand or pocket while even not playing or using it. I decided to search for the solution which are explained below and you are welcome to try anyone one of them for OnePlus 2 heating issue. You can proceed at your own risk if anything goes wrong.

The first method is simply restart your phone whenever it starts getting heat up. Not a permanent fix but not hurt trying?

You can wipe your phone cache by going to recovery and selecting Wipe Cache only. Remember be carefully while selecting option. Don’t wipe your data or system.

You can reinstall Oxygen OS 3.o Marshmallow beta version by wiping your phone completely and factory resetting. This way if anything other than OS is the cause of the OnePlus 2 heating issue, will be removed.
