Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 Changelog

Microsoft today (8/6/2014) published a changelog in which it highlighted the new features that were available in Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1. With the update that rolled out earlier this week for Windows Phone 8.1 Preview for Developers and those in US can enjoy the features. The features are ready to use.

Let’s have a look on the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 Changelog:

Live Folder:

Live Folders help you organize your start screen. Just push the tiles on top of each other and there you go you have created a Live Folder.

Messaging:

Now you can combine multiple texts and send it to any contact or you can forward it to group of peoples.

Selection:

With improved selection you can select and delete multiple calls, contacts and messages.

Accessory Apps:

Use Accessory Apps to get notifications from your phone on your smart watch, active phone cover, fitness tracker, or other kinds of accessories. You will find this new option in Setting.

Apps Corner:

Apps Corner let you specify apps other people can use on a Windows Phone. Great for individuals and any organizations who want to provide only the essential apps for others to use for work, school, or any other reason.

Alarm:

Now you can increase and decrease the snooze time according to your need.

Internet Sharing:

Before the update you can only share the internet over Wi-Fi but now you can share the data connection over the Bluetooth.

VPN:

VPN now supports L2TP, which let you connect to more VPN services. Now you can connect over different VPN’s like the one at Schools and Work.

Narrator:

Narrator now has touch typing and a way for you to turn off hints for controls and buttons if you don’t want them read aloud. Some other improvements to Narrator help you unlock your phone a little more quickly, find and use the Back, Start, and Search buttons more easily, and tell you when your phone screen is on or off.
