Nokia HERE maps are coming to all Samsung Galaxy devices and Samsung Tizen devices, announced by Samsung and Nokia. HERE maps will arrive in beta first and it will provide free voice guided navigation to Samsung phones.
Nokia HERE maps provide free voice guided navigation even when offline. Google maps does provide offline navigations. That is a plus point of maps provided by Nokia over Google. Gear smart watches running Tizen will also get HERE maps and its offline navigation. Offline maps are available for 200 countries. about 100 support turn by turn walking and driving navigation.
HERE maps also provide live traffic in over 40 countries. Live traffic requires internet connection of course. HERE maps support versatile sync. You can set destination on your web browser and can later pick it up on your phone when you plan to go there and you require turn by turn navigation. The Samsung Gear S will get a navigator app which will provide offline walk and drive navigation. Tizen smart watches will also do navigation through HERE maps but driving navigation is not supported on Tizen devices. But offline walking navigation is supported on Tizen devices as well.
All apps will be available in Samsung app stores when Samsung Gear S hits the market.
