Nokia 3310 3g

Flashback: Nokia 3310

Hey, guys, So almost all of us have used to LEGENDARY Nokia 3310 or at least have heard about it. In February 2017, the rebooted version of Nokia 3310 became a massive hit. The Phone brought back fond memories. The phone was strong, inexpensive, and was a very reliable handset. Alas! This handset won’t be used in some countries. As they are going to discontinue 2G networks soon. Well, this all had nothing to do with whats going to come up next.

Nummella (The CEO of HMD GLOBAL) is considering what the consumers want and is very keen on meeting the customer’s demand. The demand was very simple. The Customers said that why don’t you make a 3G version of the handset? 2G networks will be discontinued in most of the countries.

Unveiling Nokia 3310 (3G)

HMD officially revealed that the new Nokia 3310 (3G) will now be available in more colors. Nokia 3310 (3G) will be available in Yellow, Warm-Red, with a hint of Charcoal hues and Azure in its color scheme. The Operating System is now more powerful than the previous one. It is an Upgraded Java Powered OS called the “Feature OS”. But HMD also revealed that this handset will only be available in the USA and Austraila, as these are the only two Countries where 2G networks have been discontinued. But yes additional markets will soon be announced.

Juho Sarvikas the Chief Product Officer of the HMD Global said this in his press release “Our reimagining of the Nokia 3310 has been a global and cultural phenomenon. In a world dominated by smartphones, the mix of nostalgia and a beautiful phone that just keeps going has captured people’s imagination. Our fans around the world have been asking for this iconic phone to support 3G. Fans asked, we listened, and today welcome the Nokia 3310 3G.”

With almost 6 and a half hours of talk time and 27 days of standby time with 3G network working. I guess this beats most of the Smartphones available in the current market. Well, you know what they say “Old is Gold”.
