The Super Nintendo Entertainment System is otherwise known in Japan as Super Famicom or SFC for short came out back in 1991 and it is one of the best selling and popular consoles of all time. Nintendo has released the famous Famicom controllers for the Nintendo Switch as wireless variants and now it seems that Super Famicom Controller might be releasing for the Switch as well.

It seems Nintendo has filed a trademark for the button layout of the Super Famicom controller, which you can check out below if you can’t remember how it looked like

Nintendo’s trademark document reveals the button layout of the controller and wondering why all of a sudden, they’d want to trademark such an old controller?

Maybe because we’ll be getting it for the Nintendo Switch, just like the regular Famicom wireless controllers as well, which are up for pre-order at the moment. Check them out below as they work wirelessly in all their glory with the Nintendo Switch, though these are currently being made available in Japan for now.

It wouldn’t come as a surprise if Nintendo announces these for the Switch, who wouldn’t want them? Not only as something of nostalgic significance, but these were also darn good controllers that still hold up.
