The new Swift programming language, the Cloud Kit, Family Sharing, OS X Yosemite, Home Kit and so much more. But exactly today, Apple introduced their entry-level iMac.
Yes this is true. Apple has finally introduced an iMac that though may still not be in reach of the ordinary person, but it is still affordable. Products of Apple have ever been demanding. And almost every product of Apple has proved worthy of their existence. Despite of what the critics say, Apple does what it wants anyway.
The entry-level iMac brings the price of entry to the all-in-one desktop to $1,099 or $200 less than was the case just yesterday. This new version has a 1.4 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, a 500 GB hard drive and Intel HD Graphics 5000 on board. While mostly laptops feature an Intel HD 4500, Apple has thought of updating its PC for the end users.
Although the above specifications are not entirely fixed. Configuration options allow you to scale the drive up to either a 1 TB HDD or Fusion drive. The third option is to put in 256 GB of SSD flash storage, but that’s about it. With an additional $200, you can change the specifications to a quad-core Intel processor, a 1 TB drive and Intel Iris Pro graphics. There is another option to upgrade the RAM to 16 GB in the configuration options.
The low-end/entry-level iMac likely won’t set anyone’s world on fire, speaking in terms of performance. But it will suffice the needs of an average light computer user who wants something for the home.
