Microsoft custom ROM turn Android Phones into Windows 10 Phone

android phone to windows phone

Microsoft announced that its new operating system Windows 10 will be launching officially this summer. Windows 10 will be released across 190 countries of the world in 111 languages. Along with this announcement, Microsoft surprises their users by one more exciting news. Microsoft hinted a under development software that converts the Android phones to Windows 10 devices.

The Seattle based company casually revealed that it is testing Windows 10 with “power users” of Xiaomi’s flagship Mi 4 Android smartphone. The initiative, which Xiaomi stressed is not a partnership but merely assistance with the trial, is an interesting one because it again shows Microsoft’s new ‘platform agnostic’ approach.

Neither Microsoft nor Xiaomi provided specific details of the Windows 10 software being trialed, but from sources we know that it effectively overrides Android, turning the Xiaomi phone into a Windows 10 device complete with Microsoft services.

This will be possible if a Windows based ROM is used. This ROM will customize the Android phone completely with Windows Phone 10 and will allow native Windows 10 like experience on Android phones. Furthermore Microsoft is partnering with China’s Xiaomi and testing ROM’s in china where consumers are more inclined to install ROMs. Microsoft have big plans to make this software available on more and more devices in less time the full availability of software will be announced soon by Microsoft. Microsoft said that it is committed to release the software globally to all the users.
