A few days back, a new Lumia device leaked. It was said to be the next mid-range Windows Phone from Nokia/Microsoft. By then, not much was known about the phone. But from the measure of the images, it has an aluminum frame with a polycarbonate back. The phone had a smaller camera module. This phone was said to be the successor of Lumia 820, namely the Lumia 830.
Well the leak of the Lumia 830 might as well be true. The phone is expected to be the upcoming mid-range Nokia smartphone. It has been now spotted in a brand new leaked render. This is due to the courtesy of Chinese search engine Baidu.
Though what looks different in the logo of the phone? Yes exactly, that is the one thing that is most intriguing of them all. The branding has changed. It is now Nokia by Microsoft. Only this week it was rumored that something like this would be happening. And this has just confirmed the leak. Although this did happen very swiftly.
So what are the consequences? What will happen to all the Nokia lovers out there? The leak has already shown the Lumia 830 labelled by Microsoft. This could bring an uplift in the sales of Nokia or should I say Microsoft. But on the other side this could also be the downfall of one company and rise of another. This acquisition might be in favor of both companies, or may be in neither of them.
The effects of Microsoft purchasing Nokia are going to slowly start showing up. One wonders if there isn’t a plan to gradually phase out the Nokia brand entirely. It is also possible that maybe in a year or two we’ll see Microsoft’s name on smartphones by itself. That might as well be the end of Nokia.
Let’s focus on the Lumia 830 itself. The new picture tells us that it will have 13 MP rear camera with Zeiss optics. Previously it was rumored that it would also sport a 4.5” touchscreen but everything else is still just a mystery.
