We used to hear about the term “time machine” and used to fantasize about it. Not only us but there has been so much research on the topic. The most frequently asked question would be, can a person even go back in time and come back? Well now with the Google Time Machine it is very much possible to go back in time and come back (in one piece).

After the catastrophic earthquake having a scale on 9.0 at the coast of China, Google decided to preserve all sorts of imagery they had for the Street View project.

Google is changing the Street View now. Google will let you step back in earlier data of the Street View. Since then whenever Google updated the street view they preserved the old images as well. The feature that Google is now rolling out of the Google Maps in is ordinary unless you want the Time Machine.

If you are viewing any location with earlier recorded images, we can now see an hour glass and a slider in the top left of the screen that shows you the month and year. Dial it back and sweep across the copy stored on Google’s server.

The shortest jump back in time is that of one month, as there are places that are not visited so frequently. Although there are other places as well that are even updated several times a week, like Google’s campus and other major cities.

The Time Machine now being introduced is a very special gift to the world. Now one can go back in time and rejoice the moments of time once spent at that area.

What are your views? And don’t forget to share, because sharing is the new sexy!
