Many companies are planning to launch something new for the CES 2014 i.e. Lenovo plans to unveil four smartphones and Acer plans to bring ‘refreshed’ new tab and smartphone. So how can LG miss this opportunity? Definitely, not! Therefore LG has planned WebOS for the every first time. As this technology was dead at a moment but LG hopes to make it alive after introducing it in CES this year. The WebOS owes a long history as it started off with the Palm’s and then, sold out to HP in 2010 for 1.2 billion. Afterwards, HP sold it further to LG. Now, LG is introducing it in CES 2014 using a new platform of its own.
The Smart TV that is to be shown in the CES will be one of its kind as before it was only used in smartphone and tablets. The most latest version of it was released one year back on Jan 12. After abandoning the Touchpad and the proposed sale of the HP Personal System Group, HP made the platform open source and it became Open WebOS.
