LG plans to release LG G Pro 2 before LG G3

Last year, LG announced its 2013 flagship LG G2 with Snapdragon 800 chipset. But LG only managed to sale 3 million units of LG G2. The reason for low number of sales was release of Nexus 5 soon after LG G2. LG also released another high end phone Optimus G Pro in April last year.

It seems like LG is now gearing up for the New Year with new potential. Few days ago, we heard a rumor about LG releasing its next flagship LG G3 this year. The new LG G3 will feature an Octa-core chipset with Q-HD Display. Read more about LG G3 here. Now, according to another report, LG is planning to release another flagship before LG G3, The LG G Pro 2, a successor to original LG Optimus G. According to that report, LG G Pro 2 will be releasing somewhere in March. So if it is true, LG should be going announce it in upcoming MWC 2014 which will held in February. The release in March makes perfect sense as it will allow LG to compete with Samsung’s expected flagship Galaxy S5 and also it will give time to make further improvements for LG G3.

There are no words on specification of the phone yet. But we can hope that it will be a nice upgrade compared to original LG Optimus G released last year. It will maintain the screen size of original LG Optimus G i.e. 5.5 inches.
