A Youtuber by the name AdoredTV has just leaked a plethora of information regarding the upcoming Ryzen 3000 series processors by AMD. The specs shown in the video are incredibly impressive and it seems like AMD will be coming out with as many as 10 different processors all pertaining to the new AMD Ryzen 3000 Series of processors. These new processors are based on Zen 2 architecture and offer clock speeds of up to 5.1 GHz and up to 16 cores. Let’s look into all the interesting details however I must ask you to take it with a pinch of salt as with any rumor or leak.
There are a total of 10 processors:
- Three of which come under Ryzen 3 i.e. Ryzen 3 3300, Ryzen 3 3300X
Ryzen 3 3300G. - Another three processors come under Ryzen 5 i.e. Ryzen 5 3600, Ryzen 5 3600X, Ryzen 5 3600G
- Two of the processors come under Ryzen 7 i.e. Ryzen 7 3700, Ryzen 7 3700X
- And the last two come under Ryzen 9 i.e. Ryzen 9 3800X,Ryzen 9 3850X
AMD Ryzen 3 3300X, 3300 & 3300G –Specs and Price
As you know the Ryzen 3 processors from AMD are entry-level processors oriented towards gamers on a budget or just people looking to build a PC for day to day work. They offer good bang for the buck without costing you an arm and a leg.
The first two processors are CPU only while the 3000G comes with Navi graphics builtin.
AMD Ryzen CPU | Cores/Threads | GPU | Base Clock | Boost Clock | TDP | Price | Debut |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Ryzen 3 3300 | 6/12 | N/A | 3.2GHz | 4.0GHz | 50W | $99 | CES |
Ryzen 3 3300X | 6/12 | N/A | 3.5GHz | 4.3GHz | 65W | $129 | CES |
Ryzen 3 3300G | 6/12 | 15 CU Navi | 3.0GHz | 3.8GHz | 65W | $129 | Q3 2019 |
As you can see, the Ryzen three processors range from a mere $99 to $129. The price alone is such a huge incentive for customers to by the processors as they cost next to nothing compared to similar spec’d offerings from Intel. On top of that, the specifications itself are impressive regardless of the price point. Even the cheapest processor will provide 6 cores and 12 threads and up to 4.0 GHz boost clock with on 50W TDP. This is phenomenal!
AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, 3600 & 3600G – Specs and Price
The Ryzen 5 line of processors by AMD are aimed towards enthusiast gamers who want the best of both worlds i.e. price and performance. The three new offerings from AMD in this line are absolutely amazing.
AMD Ryzen CPU | Cores/Threads | GPU | Base Clock | Boost Clock | TDP | Price | Debut |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Ryzen 5 3600 | 8/16 | N/A | 3.6GHz | 4.4GHz | 65W | $178 | CES |
Ryzen 5 3600X | 8/16 | N/A | 4.0GHz | 4.8GHz | 95W | $229 | CES |
Ryzen 5 3600G | 8/16 | 20 CU Navi | 3.2GHz | 4.0GHz | 95W | $199 | Q3 2019 |
The processors range from a reasonable $178 to $199. In only $178 you can get yourself an 8 core processor with 16 threads. This is some serious value for your money. The third processor in the line up also features builtin Navi graphics. It seems like AMD is going all out in its competition with Intel. With these prices and specs they are sure to recapture the market.
The Ryzen 5 3600G, which is the most high end and expensive in the Ryzen 5 line up only costs $199. It offers boost clock of 4.0 GHz, however, we see a rise in TDP which is at 95W same as the 3600X.
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 3700 – Specs and Price
Arriving at the top-tier of AMD processors, the Ryzen 7 line includes two processors, the 3700X and the 3700.
This is where things get crazy as both of these processors offer 12 cores and 24 threads. Ideal for workstations and heavy rendering work. These processors are AMD’s best offerings.
AMD Ryzen CPU | Cores/Threads | Base Clock | Boost Clock | TDP | Price | Debut |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Ryzen 7 3700 | 12/24 | 3.8GHz | 4.6GHz | 95W | $299 | CES |
Ryzen 7 3700X | 12/24 | 4.2GHz | 5.0GHz | 105W | $329 | CES |
The prices take a hike here as expected, however, for the specs that these processors offer the $299 to $329 bracket is still fairly reasonable when compared to Intel.
AMD Ryzen 9 3850X, 3800X – Specs and Price
If you thought the Ryzen 7 processors were impressive then wait till you see this. This is the very top of the spectrum, the absolute mammoth of processors. The AMD Ryzen 9 has 2 processors under its tag. The 3850X and the 3800X. Both of these offer 16 cores and 24 threads. The boost clock on these processors is also insane at a whopping 5.1Ghz.
AMD Ryzen CPU | Cores/Threads | Base Clock | Boost Clock | TDP | Price | Debut |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Ryzen 9 3800X | 16/32 | 3.9GHz | 4.7GHz | 125W | $449 | CES |
Ryzen 9 3850X | 16/32 | 4.3GHz | 5.1GHz | 135W | $499 | May |
To put things into perspective, the Ryzen 9 3850X is literally the double the performance of the fastest AM4 CPU that currently exists.
These two processors range from $449 to $499 and the TDP is a bit crazy on these as can be expected keeping in mind the insane power that they output. We are looking at upto 135W TDP for the 3850X.
Double the Die, Double the Fun? AMD’s New Strategy.
It looks like AMD has almost perfected the art of stacking multiple dies on top of each other to push the limits of Clock speeds of its processors. The high-end Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9 chips which you just saw above are actually compiled from two separate dies. Part of the reason AMD has managed to keep the prices so low is that they have avoided designing a large and complicated die. Instead, they have implemented multiple small and simple dies to build an intricate product. This enables them too invest more in researching and developing exisiting technology instead of coming up with an altogether new die which wouldnt be as cost affective.
This is all we have for you today, do let us know in the comments what you think about the leaked AMD Ryzen 3000 series.
