Android has a USB OTG (On-The-Go) facility which lets you connect any USB device with your Android phone. But iPhone didn’t has any such thing till now but no more.
Hyper has introduced an iStick. iStick is a USB device with built in lightening connecter for iPhones and iPads. iStick lets you copy devices between any computer through USB port and then you can easily move them to your iPhone, iPad or iPod. The idea is really great as Apple mobile devices are dependent on iTunes to transfer media. This device allows you to transfer data between your computer and Apple mobile devices without using iTunes. iStick supports USB 2.0 but not USB 3.0 so you’ll have to wait a little to copy large amount of data in to your device. Moreover you can stream videos, play music and open documents in iStick.
Hyper is working on this device since 2 years and now it gets approval from Apple to launch it. Here are the Official words of Hyper.
As expected, Apple had many concerns for iOS storage products like the iStick. We actually started MFi application for this product more than 2 years ago. It was definitely not an easy process but we managed to address all of Apple’s concerns and finally just got MFi approval.
