This issue is only happening with the Game Pass version as well, and it is tied to the Windows Media Feature Pack.
- Head over to the following link
- Select Media Pack Feature – Version 1903 (May 2019)
- Download it, and install
- Restart your PC, and then the crashing issue will be fixed next time you run the game
