How to fix Horizon Zero Dawn Crash on launch on PC

Horizon Zero Dawn is an action role-playing game from Guerrilla Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment. The title originally came out on the PS4 back in 2017 but is now available on PC as well. Sadly, despite being a highly antiticpaed port, there a bunch of technical issues players are facing. If you are running into the Horizon Zero Dawn Crash on launch on PC, here is how you can fix it.

At the moment, the game has mixed reviews on Steam. Guerrilla Games have confirmed that they are working to fix all the problems players are facing.

If you are running into this issue, here are a few things you can try to fix it

Fix 1: Update GPU Drivers

Make sure that you are on the latest version of your GPU. You can download the latest drivers from the links below

Fix 2: Delete Configuration Files

To properly do this, make sure you have turned off cloud sync for Horizon Zero Dawn in Steam/EGS.

To do this in Steam follow the steps below

Open Steam and navigate to your Steam Library.
Right-click on Horizon Zero Dawn and select Properties.
Select the Updates tab and uncheck the Enable Steam Cloud synchronization option.
Click Close

After you are done with that, follow the steps below

Now, open Windows Run by pressing the Windows + R keys together. You can also open it by searching for Run in the Windows Search Bar
Type in the following location and hit Ok

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Horizon Zero Dawn\Saved Game

Now, delete Profiles

This will reset your configurations and hopefully fix your crashing problem as well.
