Death Stranding originally came out on the PS4 last year and is the latest title from legendary video game designer, Hideo Kojima. Now it is available on PC via both Steam and the Epic Games Store. The port is excellent, and according to many outlets, the performance is superb. However, there are a few issues people are facing in the technical side. Some players can’t seem to launch the game, and there are a few things you can do to fix that
Method 1: Update your Windows
Death Stranding requires that you are on the latest version of Windows. To update it, follow the steps below
- Click on the Windows Start button
- Search for Settings and click on it
- Now, navigate to Update & Security
- Here, you can now see the Windows Update section
After you have downloaded and installed the latest update, it should start working.
Method 2: Download these Visual C++ redistributables
Head over to the following link, and download the redistributables. After that, simply install these
METHOD 3: UPDATE YOUR GPU DRIVERS
This one is very important. Make sure you are on the latest GPU drivers of your respective card. You can search these for your GPUs from the link below.
Method 4: Verify game files
Sometimes, a game can run into installation issues, and some files aren’t properly installed. To fix this, you can verify your game files by following the steps below.
- Right-click on Death Stranding in your Steam library
- Select Properties
- Now, in the LOCAL FILES tab, select Verify Integrity of Game Files
