it appears that Apex Legends has been having a multitude of crashes ever since the Season One Update. Reportedly, the game has started to crash frequently for those who were able to play it prior to the update. Here is a compilation of possible fixes for you try out and fix Apex Legends Crash after the S1 update.

 

The insanely popular BR game has been giving people a tough time running it. Apex Legends is no stranger to bugs and crashes ever since the release, however, things seem to have gotten especially worse ever since the update.

Having looked around on different forums, I have compiled a list of possible fixes that may potentially fix your game. Keep in mind though that Apex legends is very system dependent so depending on the kind of hardware you have installed in your PC the fixes listed below may or may not work. Do try them all out in sequence.

How To Fix Apex Legends Crash After Season 1 Update

Different players have reported different solutions for the fix, below are the most probable fixes that may fix Apex Legends Crash that players are experiencing after the Season One Update.

Capping the FPS

Many players have reported that capping their fps to 80 has helped solve the problem for them. It is unclear why this specific fix works but going by the community’s assurance that it works here is how you can cap your ingame fps to 80.

Step 1- Download RivaTuner Statistics Server.

Step 2- Input your desired framerate limit in the “Framerate limit” box, in this case- 80, and hit enter (the program comes bundled with MSI Afterburner and earlier versions of EVGA PrecisionX).

That is all, let me know in the comments if this fix worked. You will be compromising on your FPS but the game would work without any crashes hopefully.

Repair Game Files

Some players reported that repairing the game files from Origin has made the crashes less frequent. Here is how you do it.

Step 1- Open Origin.

Step 2- Go to Game Library.

Step 2- Right Click on Apex Legends and click Repair from the list.

Step 3- Let the client very and repair game files. Once done start the game and see if it worked.

Run In Compatability Mode.

This one may not have that high of a success rate but still, it’s worth trying. Reportedly, running the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7 makes the crases less frequent.

Step 1- Head over to the installation folder of Apex Legends.

Step 2- Scroll down to “r5apex.exe” and right click on it.

Step 3- Now click on properties and go to the compatibility tab. Check “Run the program in compatibility mode for:” and select Windows 10 from the list.
