Google separated Hangouts from Google+ in the past and Hangouts independently is doing great. It offers you free voice and video calling and even free group video calls. Similarly Photos app is currently integrated into Google Plus and you must have a Google+ account to use Google Photos. Now Google is planning to separate its Photos app from Google Plus.

Google Photos got some really nice effects in the recent past to edit your photos and to make them look more beautiful. Photos gives you unlimited free back up of your photos and videos. Photos that are upto 2048×2048 pixels and videos that are up to 15 minutes and 1080p. So Android users dont have to worry about their photos and videos as they automatically backed up on Google Photos. In the past Google had a photos service called Picasa but Google then merged it with Photos and all of the photos were securely transferred to Google Photos.

The idea of separating Google+ and Google Photos looks like a great strategy. As some people do not have Google+ account and Google+ account would not be necessary to use Photos anymore. Users will be able to store and share photos without a Google Plus account and smartphone app of both services will be separated. Photos will still work with Google Plus though.

Photos also does some tweaks to your stored photos. For example it create a gif of photos that are similar to each other and it auto awesome your photos as well by adding some effects to them automatically.
