Google has been very keen in releasing there statistics related to the market shares of Android. The shares do not represent the assets but the percentage of Android versions running in market. As of now, KitKat is the most recent version of Android that Google released. But there are a lot other leaked screenshots and other information about the upcoming version of Android.

According to the statistics that Google released, Jelly Bean is still the share leader with a big 60.8%. This is more than half of all the market. Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich and KitKat follows.

The trio of Jelly Bean, 4.1.x, 4.2.x and 4.3 lost a total of 1.3 points in total but as you can see it is still on the top of the market. On the other hand, we saw the most rapid growth in Kitkat, a total of 3.2 point in growth, taking it up to 8.5%.

As expected, all versions prior to Jelly Bean have been losing ground quite hastily. Ice Cream Sandwich, which I considered as the revolution of Android, dropped 0.7 points. Gingerbread lost 1.6 points and Froyo another 0.1%. Honeycomb which was exclusively developed for Android Tablets is stuck on 0.1%. This will remain like this until Google itself does not announces it dead/extinct.
