Google Fiber now reaches Austin, Texas, sign-ups start next month

So after Kansas City and Provo, Google Fiber has now reached Austin, Texas. Wow! The fastest Internet is just round the corner for Austin residents. Google will start sign-ups for the Internet service next month. Means, the rapid Internet is just few days far.

Google pricing plans for Austin city will vary a bit from that in Kansas City and Provo. According to details from MultiChannel, Google Fiber’s 1-Gig stand-alone and free basic Internet offer will be having same price as in Kansas City and Provo, starting at $10+ per month. However, Google Fiber’s Gigabit+TV package that comes along with video lineup, 150 channels and a DVR (that can record 8 shows at once) will start at $130 per month. If customers make a one-year commitment, $300 construction fees will be waived. The same service costs around $120 per month in Kansas City and Provo.

Google Fiber is under construction in Austin. Nearly, 1,000+ miles of Fiber has been already laid down hence forming the foundation of the network. Google Fiber will gradually be made available throughout the area. The service will first launch in ‘fiberhoods’, that are the areas from Google get most of the sign-ups.
