Today at Build 2014, Microsoft announced that start menu will come back in next major update of Windows 8.1. A lot of people want Windows class start menu back and finally Microsoft responded to that request. A new classic start menu combination of Windows 8 and Windows 7 design will come later this with Windows update.
We have previously saw beautiful concept of Windows 8.1 start menu with metro apps running on desktop. Start Menu Microsoft showed represent similar taste. This new classic menu will have size of Windows 7 but also features miniature live Windows 8 live tiles. This major change will bring happiness to the mouse and keyboard users. Unfortunately this change will not be included in the Windows 8.1 Update 1.
Windows 8.1 Update 1 will start to roll out on 8th April as automatic download. Moreover Microsoft also showed Windows 8.1 native apps running on desktop environment. This update majorly include improvements for old school (mouse and keyboard) users. Microsoft believes this update will make user fall in love with Windows 8.1. Also Microsoft plans to make Windows apps cross platform friendly. Mean same apps will run on Xbox One and Windows phone.
