Samsung Galaxy Note Edge Specs and Design

Galaxy Note Edge Curved Screen

Samsung added a unique new phablet family named as the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. The name – Galaxy Note Edge – is not random, but the right side of the screen folds to cover the side of the device. This enables the user for unique interactions. So this might not be the three-sided screen but two-sided is unique enough.

The Galaxy Note Edge is quite juiced up and well set to defeat any competitor coming in its way.

Design

The Galaxy Note Edge is based on the Galaxy Note 4 internally. It’s the screen that makes all the difference in the world. The edged screen adds an extra 160 pixels so the resolution grows to 1,600 x 2,560. However, this may be of disadvantage. This makes the Galaxy Note Edge a bit wider than its straight screen sibling.

Samsung has added enough smarts to the curved display that accidental touches are not a problem.

Other than that, when the phone is locked, it can show the time and notifications. When the screen is awakened, the side displays notifications for various features, including timer and flashlight shortcuts and even a ruler.

With the Galaxy Note Edge unlocked, the number of options grow threefold. You can keep shortcuts on the side for easy access or use the curved edge for at-a-glance info. Or you can use it to enhance multitasking by switching several screens.

Individual apps can put the side to use too. This can and is done to keep the main screen free from clutter.

The Galaxy Note Edge is a unique but also a very powerful handset.
