How to Fix iPhone 8 or iPhone X Won’t Turn Off on iOS 11

Even the iPhone X, has some issues. One of the most reported issues is that the smartphone would not turn off no matter what the users try. But, with every problem, comes a solution. And, we are here to provide it to you!

The iPhone X was launched on the 10th Anniversary of the iPhone. Other than being bezel-less, the phone has several other amazing features. These include the all-new A11 Chipset, 5.8 inch Super Retina OLED Display, Face ID, Water and Dust Resistance, Wireless Charging, etc. In addition to all of that, the iPhone has Dual 12 MP Cameras.

How To Fix iPhone X or iPhone 8 Won’t Turn Off Issue

In case, your brand new iPhone X (iPhone 8, or iPhone 7) has frozen and would not turn off no matter what you do, follow the steps mentioned below. The same steps can be applied to the other lower-end Apple devices.

Follow These Steps:

Step #1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button, and wait for 10 seconds.

Step #2. When you see the red slider appearing, slide it to turn your iPhone X off.

Note: If there is a certain app that is causing your iPhone X to freeze, you can also force quit it. Press the home button for 1-2 seconds, this will shut off all the apps.

What To Do If Your iPhone X Still Won’t Turn Off

If the aforementioned steps do not work, and your iPhone still does not turn off, here is something else you can do:

In case your iPhone X still does not turn off or reboot, you can let the battery of your smartphone drain off. Once the battery is fully empty, your iPhone will turn off on its own. Then, you can charge it and use it as you were before!
