Fairy Gone Original TV anime

Studio P.A. Works today revealed an original anime for premiere in April dubbed as Fairy Gone. Kenichi Suzuki, the person behind Cells at Work!, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, Drifters, will be officially directing the anime along with Ao Jūmonji who will be in charge of supervising and writing the script. Ever since I read that Kenichi is going to be the director of the anime my expectations rose and I really hope the show really meets my expectations.

Fairy Gone Original TV Anime Announced

Anime News Network describes the story as,

The anime is set in a world where fairies possess and reside within animals, granting them special powers. By surgically removing and transplanting the organs of a possessed animal into a human, humans can partially summon the fairy and use it as a weapon. Eventually, such individuals were used for war, and were called “Fairy Soldiers.” After a long war, these soldiers lost their purpose, and had to reintegrate into society. From the government, to the mafia, and even becoming terrorists, each tread their own path.

The story begins nine years after the end of the war, and centers on the protagonist Maria. Maria is a fresh recruit of “Dorothea,” an organization dedicated to the investigation and suppression of fairy-related crimes and incidents. Even in peacetime, the government is still unstable after the war. Many criminals still have lingering wounds from the previous conflict, and there are terrorist groups bent on revenge. This is the story of Fairy Soldiers seeking their own justice in a chaotic postwar world.

Staff and Cast Details

The staff and cast details of the original TV anime is:

Staff:

Cast:

Kana Ichinose as Maria Noel – A new recruit in “Dorothea,” an organization dedicated to fighting Fairy-related crime and illegal activity. She is a special case who has the ability to control fairies without undergoing fairy organ implant surgery. Her village was burned down during the war, leaving her and her childhood friend Veronica as the sole survivors. She was separated from Veronica but eventually learned that Veronica became an assassin who wanted revenge. Maria joined Dorothea in order to stop Veronica. She was raised by a hunter, and knows her way around hunting rifles and blades in a fight. She is normally quite easy-going, but easily becomes emotional when the subject turns to Veronica.

Ashclad, Maria’s fairy – It has the power to generate extremely high heat from its hand, such that anything it touches is reduced to ash.

Tomoaki Maeno as Free Underbar – The replacement commander of Dorothea’s Unit 1. He encouraged Maria to join Dorothea, and works with her on many investigations. During the war, he fought as a dual sword-wielding Fairy Soldier. While he can be blunt at times, he always means well, and he earns the affection of his colleagues.

Red Hood, Free’s fairy – It is an agile fighter that can use its claws and fangs, and even generate sonic attacks through screaming.

Ayaka Fukuhara as Veronica Thorn – Maria’s childhood friend. She and Maria were the sole survivors of their village being burned during the war. She swore revenge on Ray Thorn, the traitor general responsible for the burning of her village. She learned to excel in combat skills, and eventually became a cold-hearted assassin. Like Maria, she can also control fairies without undergoing fairy organ implant surgery.

Blood Daughter, Veronica’s fairy –  It has the power to enter bodies through wounds Veronica caused, and destroy them from the inside.

Yoshimasa Hosoya as Ulfran Low – A former Fairy Soldier who fought alongside Free during the war. The war claimed the lives of his wife and child, and he turned to vengeful terrorism in the aftermath. He is a pragmatic sort, who doesn’t normally let his emotions show, but anyone can see the fire inside him when he talks about the war.

Fitcher, Ulfran’s fairy – With its six blades, it slices its enemies apart.

If anything the plot and the character design is quite intriguing which makes me want to see the show as soon as possible. What do you think?
