Yesterday, Facebook launched its new iOS News Reader, Paper. Facebook Paper is a beautifully designed standalone iOS news reader app. Facebook Paper delivers news in a different innovative style. It allows you to get news not only from your stream but also from other categories Like Tech, LOL, Culture etc.
It is the first app made by Facebook Creative Labs. For who don’t know about Facebook Creative Labs, Creative Labs is an initiative by Facebook to let the small team within the Facebook build a standalone mobile experiences.
You can download the Paper from iTunes if you are a U.S. citizen. When you download the Paper and launch it for the first time, you will see News Feed in a different style. Screen is split in two halves, Upper half consist of Images and Videos. While the lower half consist of Status Updates and Link Stories. You can swipe around through stories and if you tap on story, it will open a delighted animation.
You can add your own section too like Sports, Headline and Planet etc. Each section will offer stories selected by Editors, Publication, Blogger or a Public figure. Facebook Paper seems to be fabulous app that is ad free for now. It will become popular for its thought and design.
For those unfortunate readers who are outside the U.S. can download the app by following the below steps:
Note: Changing your country will remove whatever credit card you have on file with iTunes. So make sure you have that credit card handy to re-enter the details later. If you have a giftcard balance on your account, iTunes will make you spend it before you can change countries.
Here’s how to do it:
- Open App Store and Tap the button at the end that says “Apple ID: [your email here]”
- Tap “View Apple ID”
- Enter password
- Tap the “Change country or region” button.
- Change your country to United States
- When it asks for your payment info, just choose “None”.
- Now your are on U.S. Store and can download Paper
Following these steps, you can download Facebook Paper from any country across the Globe.
