[RUMOR] Devil May Cry 5 for PC delayed to May 7th 2019 according to SteamDB

Devil May Cry 5 for PC

Devil May Cry 5

Devil May Cry 5 is easily one of the most anticipated games of the year and a much-awaited sequel to the legendary hack n slash franchise. But it seems PC gamers will have to wait, with a SteamDB update confirming that Devil May Cry 5 for PC has been delayed.

Update: It seems that there could be an issue with this SteamDB listing. The one that regularly updates is this, on which there is no release date at all, which is similar to how the Resident Evil 2 listing looked like. The one linked in the article is most likely for the Bloody Palace. So, for now, don’t treat this as anything more than a rumor.

Devil May Cry 5 for PC delayed

The SteamDB page of Devil May Cry 5 has been updated, and a new release date has been posted, which is now May 7th, two months after the actual release date, that CAPCOM has announced.

Check out a screenshot below, and the listing here.

There is no mention of any release date on the Steam page as well. We’re unsure at this point if this is true for other platforms as well, but SteamDB updates aren’t exactly errors. CAPCOM hasn’t commented on this delay or provided an update officially, but we’ll update it when they do.

The original release date for March 8, 2019, and the release date is still mentioned like this on both PS Store and Microsoft Store. So at this point, it seems that only the PC version has been delayed.

There’s also a chance that this is all just an error on SteamDB’s end, and we could just be getting the game on the same day as the other platforms.

If this delay is legit, it’s most likely because the developers need more time to work on the quality of the port for PC, and that’s never a bad thing. We don’t want another Arkham Knight on our hands, it’s better to release a stable build so players don’t have issues on launch.
