With each new day, mobile platforms i.e. Android, iOS and Windows Phone are gradually getting close to each other. Apple acquired Beats has recently updated its Android app, Microsoft recently released a full fledge Office for iPad version. That’s not all, for the first time, Apple is also considering to introduce iTunes for Android. Things does not end here! Now, Microsoft is debating to introduce Cortana assistant on Android and iOS.

Windows Phone 8.1 Cortana voice assistant is far better than Google Now and Apple SIRI. The enhanced functionality let you perform a variety of tasks through Cortana assistant. Before even the public release of WP 8.1, Cortana assistant has got fame and popularity.

Recently at SMX Advanced conference in Seattle, Microsoft representatives i.e. Windows Phone Group Program Manager Marscus Ash and Group Program Manager in the Applications and Services Group Rob Chambers have shared words regarding Cortana assistant. This is what they said, regarding Cortana assistant for Android and iOS,

We want to scale Cortana internationally and across devices. The Android/iOS question is interesting. We’re asking, would Cortana be as effective if she didn’t have access to the details on your phone?

We’re still trying to get Cortana adopted on Windows Phone and figure out what it wants to become there.
But we’re actively talking about this.

Other than this, both the representatives confirmed that Cortana assistant will remain ad free. This is not all, as per Microsoft executives, they also have some great plans of brining Cortana assistant to desktop devices, vehicles etc.

Let’s see whether the story comes true or not! I will say ‘best of luck’ to Microsoft in this regard. We surely need a 3-in-1 voice assistant. Now, it’s up to others whether they allow Cortana assistant for their devices or not! Till then, it’s a DREAM only.
