BlackBerry Messenger for Windows Phone not coming, now confirmed

It is not a long ago when BlackBerry seems to be one of the Top Mobile platform. After the arrival of Android and Windows Phone, BlackBerry platform continues to lose its position. Continuous Decrease in its popularity, Shift of people to new platforms i.e. Android and Windows Phone-both from two Tech Giants Google and Microsoft and Weak Strategies were the main reasons behind its FALL. As a result, its market share also decreased. Unfortunately, none of the tactics from the Owners helped gaining its STATUS back.

Last year i.e. 2013, we saw BlackBerry doing some sort of development activity for Android and iOS. BlackBerry released its popular BBM Messenger for Android and iOS for the first time. Some people may consider it a ‘useless’ as many such messaging apps i.e. WhatsApp, Viber and Samsung ChatON are already there, both for Android and iOS. But the step was not as useless as someone would have imagined. Many people considered the release and downloaded the BlackBerry Messenger.

So what about BlackBerry Messenger BBM for Windows Phone? Is there any hope for its release? Two three months back, a survey done by WinSource showed the thoughts of WP users regarding BBM need on Windows Phone. Later on, we saw some rumors regarding its release too.

But then, TechCrunch finished all such rumors saying on behalf of its source that BlackBerry considers Windows Phone too small. And now there is confirmation from BlackBerry officials as well.

Here is what BBM Business Development’s Senior Director says,

“It is entirely market driven, our initial launch on iOS and Android was a function of the prevalence of those platforms. As other platforms emerge, whichever they may be, we will execute on those platforms as well. It is not a statement of intent, and it’s not a strategic or religious thing, it’s just a function of when does it make sense and when is it something that consumers demand in sufficient numbers to make it worth our while and worth their while.”

Hence we can say that NO BlackBerry Messenger BBM app coming for Windows Phone in near future. However BlackBerry may consider the app once Windows Phone gets more market share as eventually, it’s the matter of warranty regarding BBM’s investment!
