Attack On Titan: Wings Of Freedom is HERE!!!

Attack On Titan PC

The Wait is Over…Kind of:

Although the wait for the second season of the anime is still testing our patience. Attack On Titan: W.O.F has finally been released in the west. After the initial release of the game in Japan in February, 2016 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and the PS Vita. While sales have been ok in Japan so far in all reality it’s not going to crack any lists of top games this year. The game is now out in the west and available for the Xbox One and PC.

What is Attack On Titan?

If you don’t know what Attack On Titan is, well then it’s about high time you find out. A.O.T is a manga written by Hajime Isayama about a war between mankind and humanoid creatures known as Titans. Humanity hides behind three giant walls named Maria, Rose and Sheena respectively from the outermost wall to the innermost. The manga got an anime adaption in 2013 that was just marvelous and met with great reviews.

The Game

The game follows Eren and some other familiar characters from the show as you play through the events of the first season. Although the game follows the story from season 1 there are a few original twists. There are 10 playable characters in the game some of which you unlock by progressing through the story. Every character has their own special trait that sits well their personality. The gameplay might seem tedious at first but is easy getting used to. After playing a few minutes taking down Titans won’t seem difficult. You and your team will be taking down different titans including abnormal types. Oh and you also get to play as a Titan.

Conclusion

This game was everything I hoped for in an Attack On Titan game. It plays pretty well and the 3d maneuvering gear handles great as well. The game follows a lot of political aspects just as the manga and show do. The campaign is roughly 15 hours long after which you play the epilogue which has survey missions and titan hunts. Overall the game is decent and may not be a massive hit but it is worth playing. But if you haven’t seen the show yet I recommend doing that before playing the game.
