Apple acknowledges iMessage issue, fix coming in next future update possibly iOS 7.1.2

About a month back, Apple rolled out iOS 7.1.1 update. The update brought some slight improvements. Now, just ten days aheard, Apple will possibly rollout the much awaited iOS 8. Apple is all ready for the WWDC event. But well, it seems like we can see a software update before. The update will be iOS 7.1.2. It will have the fix to iMessage issue.

iMessage issue is now greatly in public attention. The issue is whenever a user switch away from iPhone, he is unable to receive SMS. This is because, the iPhone device keep on using the iMessage protocol for that particular phone number. The iMessage issue has really created problems for the Apple. Some cases are also being filed in courts, claiming the issue an anti-competitive ‘tactic’. Considering the situation, Apple has given a statement to Re/code. This is what, Apple says regarding the issue,

We recently fixed a server-side iMessage bug which was causing an issue for some users, and we have an additional bug fix in a future software update. For users still experiencing an issue, please contact AppleCare.

It’s not confirmed yet that which software update it would be. But, we can hope to expect iOS 7.1.2 coming in few days before WWDC. You can still try to solve the iMessage issue yourself by deactivating iMessage from Apple Support page. If it does not work, take your phone to Apple Customer Care or wait for the update.
