According to source, the deal was close to fall apart multiple times. But now there is exactly “70% certainty” that Apple will execute the plan of acquiring headphone maker Beats.
As one would expect from such news that the company wants to gain something that it does not already have. But what exactly does Apple does not have? Technology? No I don’t think so. This time Apple is buying Beats for its talent.
“They want Jimmy and they want Dre,” said the source. “He’s got the fashion and culture completely locked up”.
Why Jimmy Lovine and Andre Romelle Young aka Dr. Dre you ask? They are the pioneers of the company. The company was started by them in 2006, when they were initially entrepreneurs. The company released their first product in 2008 with the launch of the Beats by Dr. Dre Studio Headphones.
Plus, adding Jimmy and Dre in the Apple team could unlock new potential in the media industry as a whole. With them they could boost their media capabilities. And also the sound of their music would improve drastically if they integrate it with Beats audio.
