Anthem Javelins

Anthem The Game

Anthem is an upcoming online multiplayer RPG game that is being developed by BioWare and will be published by EA. The game is set in an open world where the player will take charge of a character who is a freelancer explorer. Three more players will be able to play the game in Co-Op mode alongside you. The game will also offer single-player mode. The character we choose at the beginning of the game will be fully customizable as the game progresses. Characters will be donning fully customizable Exo suits which are known as javelins in the game. These suits will boast varying weapons and superhuman abilities which will be chosen by the player himself. Coming to the topic of the news, Anthem Gameplay details along with other nuances have been revealed by none other than the Executive Producer of the game, Mark Darrah.

Anthem Gameplay and Demo Details Revealed

In an AMA on Reddit, Mark Darrah ( Executive producer) and Jonathan Warner( Game Director), answered questions pertaining to the game that have shed light on various gameplay mechanics. In a Reddit post titled “What we learned about Anthem…” on Anthem’s official subreddit, we have come to find a lot of new and interesting info about the upcoming game. Let’s look into what this info entails.

Mark in reply to a question stated that progression for Early Access gameplay will be saved, however, progression within the demo release will not. Moreover, regarding the looting system, Mark commented that there will be a tier based looting system i.e. white=common, green=uncommon, maybe blue?=rare, purple=epic, gold=legendary, unknown=masterworks; 6 in total. Apart from this, we have also found out that there is an earned currency that can be used to purchase cosmetics within the game.

Further commenting on the game, Mark and Jon revealed that Paint styles for cosmetics will be unlimited. So don’t worry about putting the wrong color on, you can change it. Moreover, There is a lot of variety when it comes to painting styles and textures. Some are unlocked at the beginning of the game, others you’ll have to work for. They also stated that the sex of your Javelin can be chosen when you customize your freelancer at the beginning of the game. Furthermore, it was also cleared up that there is no forced requirement that everyone in the instance, or team, has to be a different javelin, “You can all be Rangers on the squad if you’d like”. Alluding to the cosmetic side of the game, they stated that Cosmetic items are completely separate from how powerful you are, so they don’t influence your gear’s stats, just how cool you look.

Turns out that Some weapons will be shared across Javelins, however, some gear and weapons are specific to that Javelin. When talking about the Titans in the game, Mark commented that it is still yet to be determined how many there will be. They Said, “We know of the Ash Titan. An educated guess would be ice, fire, electricity, and acid, but that’s speculation”. Moreover, No weapon skins & attachments have been planned at launch. There will be a way to store our loot and gear we collect. Possible companion app in the works. In free roam you’ll be able to fly anywhere, but it’s not wise to fly early in the game. The Storm Javelin cannot tap into the Anthem of Creation. The Anthem is too powerful and willful. You don’t do any damage flying into your enemies kamikaze style, but there is an air melee. Again, no other editions of the game are planned according to Mark and Jon.
