Android is the most popular smartphone Operating System right now. It is on top of the list in mobile Operating Systems in almost every major country now. Here are the latest percentage market share of every version of Android OS.

Let’s have a look on this graph showing the market shares of different versions of Android OS:

First of all, its Jellybean. Jellybean is on the top, Jellybean 4.1 is at 36.5% , 4.2 is at 10.6% and the latest 4.3 is at 1.5 % now. Hence Jellybean in total powers 48.6% of Android smartphones so we can say that almost half of the Android phones are running on Jellybean right now.

Here is an interesting thing to note that Android 4.3 is growing much faster than 4.2,  as 4.2 reached 1.6% in 4 months and 4.3 did it in much less time. This may be because many new devices with 4.3 have been launched out of the box. Moreover Google Play editions of hTC One and Galaxy S4 are also already been updated to 4.3. Not to mention Nexus devices which are quick in getting updates.

Android 2.3 Gingerbread is still the 2nd most popular Android OS powering about 28.5% of Android smartphones, which is 2% less than August.

Third most popular Android OS is Android 4.0 IceCream Sandwich which holds a share of 20.6%. Ice cream sandwich is also coming down at very slow rate.

Android 2.2 Froyo is still on the charts with 2.2% share and it is coming down as well.

And Honeycomb 3.0, which was specifically made for tablets is at 0.1%  for months now.

And overall market share of Android is 70% all across the World, beating iOS and Windows Phone by large margin infact.
