Radeon Adrenalin Edition

Couple of days ago, users of AMD felt a disastrous problem in their Radeon Adrenaline Edition drivers, when they couldn’t run some older DirectX 9 games. Everyone tried to find How to Fix DX9 issue on Radeon Adrenalin Edition. Developers clearly noticed that and kept quite till 2 days ago they released an Alpha version of Radeon Adrenalin Edition version 18.1.1.

It fixes the specific problem, DirectX9 games not running. Just as Terry Makedown said on his tweet

The Adrenalin drivers caused the issue with a handful of 10-year old games running on the older DirectX 9 API. Many people stated that AMD hasn’t done anything about it and were furious to them as the company itself kept quite till now.

Some of the games which were not working are Battle for Middle Earth 1-2, C&C3 (Command and Conquer) Tiberium Wars, C&C3: Kain’s Wrath, C&C Red Alert 3 Uprising, C&C4 Tiberium Twilight, Tales of Berseria, Witcher Enhanced Edition etc.

But the wait is over and now you can download the Alpha update from here

Keep in mind that this update is still in Alpha state and you can install it at your own risk. Because it is not been fully tested yet, and is not recommended for general use. Either you can wait till beta update or just give it a go with a decent backup of previous stable drivers for your system.

For some users, problem still exists and others said it was never the problem for them in first place. If you’re in dire need of this fix then you should just test it out and hope for the best.

Soon, they will release the fix in their next update, till then have a great day. With more news arriving, we’ll notify you as soon as possible
