Just like Nvidia, AMD has a habit of releasing specialized drivers for new triple-A games that are better optimized for a certain game. This time, AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 18.11.2 driver has been released which according to AMD is specially optimized for Battlefield V. Battlefield V was released just under a week ago and has captured a wide audience already. I think it is wise on AMD’s part to release drivers specifically designed for the new shooter game.
However, the problem here is that the previous version of AMD Radeon Software Adrenaline Edition i.e. 18.11.2 promised some of the same improvements in Battlefield V but it didn’t deliver. Moreover, the new version does not bring a lot of new features as compared to the previous one.
Those interested can read the complete changelog below, however, one of the minor fixes include the elevated memory clocks during system idle that could be found in some Radeon RX Vega Series graphics products, and addresses the incorrect lists of the Radeon Software update notifications.
