A new trademark licensed by 20th Century FOX shows us a new IP called Alien Blackout. While we only know that it relates to video game software, we can assume that this was the tease which Geoff Keighley was referring to a few days ago when Hideo Kojima posed with a statue of the Xenomorph egg-sack from the series.

Initially, people speculated that Kojima has some level of involvement with a new game for the series or was part of a bigger project but considering how much time Death Stranding takes from the creator, this was quickly dismissed.
You can see the full detail on the trademark page and it has been confirmed that this is a genuine listing. So we can dismiss any fan projects.
The tease for this years Game Awards has centered around the phrase “WORLDS WILL CHANGE”, and again the feel does give you a strong vibe of Alien due to the analog look of the text, but the Weyland-Yutani font did not match the W of the phrase.
Whether or not this is the big reveal that Geoff Keighley is preparing us for is still the million dollar question on everybody’s mind.
We are hoping to see a number of Sony games make an appearance at the Awards show with the real show-stopper being Death Stranding, but a good Alien game the likes of Alien: Isolation will always be welcome too.
The oddest thing about the name is the word Blackout which shares its name with the recent Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Battle Royale Mode with the same name. Let’s hope that this isn’t a Battle Royale Game based in the Alien universe.
Whatever the reveals might be, it seems that this years awards show is going to be one of the best in a very long time. There are bound to be lots of surprises and turns that will catch us off-guard so you will have to be at maximum alert status when watching the show in Early December 2018.
